Organization Consultation

You’re here to make an impact with and for the people you serve. Those people may be clients, students, constituents, and/or patients.

But the systems of oppression (imperialism, caste, white supremacy delusion, racism, patriarchy, colonialism, etc) constantly make it difficult to make the changes you know need to happen. This is what I call the SHOW-UP and SHUT-UP’ expectation. Sure, they want to hear you, but not if it makes them uncomfortable. Sure, they want your input, but only if it confirms what they want to hear. Sure, we’ll collaborate, as long as it’s on our terms.

Oh wait, that feels like we’re competing.


These systems of oppression are deeply embedded and often hard to subvert. Make no mistake, this is by design. Flipping the status quo would have real and lasting impacts.

At Inside Change, we start by:

Naming the systems

Creating a vision that interrupts these oppressions

Practicing ‘showing-up” and “speaking up”

Normalizing difficult conversations

Integrating our values into principles we can not only live with but practice and love

I live and work on the traditional lands of the Anishnaabeg peoples, past and present. I acknowledge that the foundation of Canada was built by the labour of stolen bodies. We do not live in a just and equitable society; lives continue to be stolen, our society continues to profit from underpaid workers contributions, and the system of colonization maintains a racist, caste-based society. My life’s work is dedicated to unsettling the settler within.
